We're a small team. If something in sqword is broken, confusing, or just not working for you, write to henrik@funkar.nu and we'll get back to you, usually within a few days.
What to include in your email
The more of this you can include up front, the faster we can help:
- Your display name in sqword (or the email tied to your account).
- Device + OS version (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18.2) and the app version (Settings → About).
- What you were doing, what happened, and what you expected to happen.
- A screenshot or screen recording if the issue is visual.
Common questions
I forgot what email my account uses
Tap your avatar on the home screen — the Profile sheet shows the email or sign-in method bound to your account.
I'm not getting push notifications
Open Settings → Notifications in sqword and check the per-category toggles (your turn, invites, re-engagement). If those are on, also check your phone's system-level notification permissions for sqword. After a long offline stretch we may have stopped sending to a stale device token; signing out and back in re-registers it.
My match is stuck on "your opponent's turn"
Each turn has a deadline (1 minute to 3 days, depending on the match you set up). When the deadline passes the server auto-forfeits the inactive seat and the match shows up in your completed games. If a match has been stuck for longer than its turn budget, email us with the match ID (visible in match history) and we'll take a look.
I want to delete my account
Open Profile → Delete account in the app, or email henrik@funkar.nu from the address tied to your account. We remove your profile, display name, friends, invites, and match-history references within 30 days, as described in the Privacy Policy.
I want a copy of my data (GDPR Article 20)
Open Profile → Export my data in the app — you'll get a JSON file with your account record, match participations, friend graph, and notification preferences. If the in-app button isn't working, email us and we'll send it manually.
Reporting another player
Cheating, harassment, or offensive display names: email us with the player's display name and a brief description of what happened. Screenshots help. We review reports against the Terms of Service (Acceptable use, §3) and act when warranted.
Found a bug or have a feature idea

Response time
We aim to reply within 3 business days. Privacy and account-deletion requests are handled within 30 days as required by GDPR; in practice it's usually within a week.
